About - Pandit Harihar Dash Library

The Pandit Harihar Dash Library is more than 100 years old library dating back 1865. Mahamohapadhyaya Acharya Harihar Dash a legendary eminent Sanskrit Scholar of Sriram Chandrapur Village in the District of Puri, Odisha State, is the Founder of this Library. The motto was to propagate Sanskrit Learning and Culture as well as the Lord Jagannath Culture. The Pandit Harihar Dash Library is an old and vast library consists of informative collection of both Sanskrit Literature in traditional and modern disciplines i.e, Veda, Vyakarana, Vedanta, Sahitya, Sankhya, Yoga, Darshan, Nyaya, Jyotisha, Dharmashastra, Tantra, Purana, Sanskrit Literature, Education, Law (Vidhi shastra), Modern Subjects like History, Hindi, Odia, English, Computer and different kinds of general books in English, Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali and Odiya Language. The Pandit Harihar Dash Library is situated in the Shri Sadashiva campus of Central Sanskrit University. It is located on the 1st floor of the Library Building block. It has separate reading arrangements for students and a Research room for Research scholars. It is located far away from the day-to-day disturbances, creating an ideal atmosphere for search of knowledge. Its aim is to provide vast ocean of Sanskrit knowledge for reading, reference and research work. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners of all disciplines.
